The occurrence of dust phenomenon is connected to some new serious climatic conditions and an increase in its frequency in some of the cities in southern coastal regions of Iran like Khuzestan and Bushehr provinces have generated serious problems in transportation, social health and promotion of certain diseases etc. Up to now, four main sources of dust origin have been the concern. Iraq, Syria, Arabia and interior zoneØ, although as a whole, the cause of such occurrences’ severity is related to climatic changes, fundamental changes in the shallow marshes and the recent droughts. The prevailing addressed issue is: the change in frequency and differences in the transformed particle nature indicate facts other than what is known. By considering the analysis on frequency and magnitude of dusty days in Iran and the morphoscopy and granulometry procedures, the samples taken from Mahshahr, Genaveh, Ahwaz and Behbahan cities are analyzed to evaluate the source and determine the share of each source and the causation of such phenomenon in the above mentioned coastal regions. - More than 58% of the dusty days in the study zone have coastal sources and are not inclined on the foreign dust particle generating centers. - The civil operations of coastal developments in specific and most of all coastal bay-road constructions are the main factors contributing to dust particles’ distribution in these two coastal provinces. - Stoppage of lunar and solar absorptions and prevention of water coverage(tide) on coastal lands are the main contributors in providing the grounds to produce dust particles in these regions.
