Ecotourism in protected areas, as one of the important sub-sectors of ecotourism, is considered a way to protect landscapes, biodiversity and natural reserves. Therefore, in this research, at the forefront of the sustainable development of nature tourism, an attempt was made to evaluate the potential of ecotourism by using spatial data analysis methods in the form of identifying areas susceptible to the development of extensive recreation and finally calculating the carrying capacity through the Tourism Carrying Capacity (TCC) model in Abbasabad Wildlife Sanctuary. For this purpose, five criteria of ruggedness and landscape, climate, human, biological and limiting factors were selected, and the combination of their weighted layers led to the preparation of the final map of extensive ecotourism recreation in the warm and cold periods of the year. The results show that for nature tourism recreation in the warm period of the year, 117,948 hectares (39%) are very suitable, 135,137 hectares (44%) are suitable, and 52,769 hectares (17%) are unsuitable, and for the cold period of the year, 82,347 hectares (27%) are very suitable, 128,213 hectares (42%) are suitable, and 95,294 hectares (31%) are unsuitable, which shows that a large part of the area of 115,911.25 hectares (76%) has high potential for the development of ecotourism. Also, the physical, real and effective carrying capacity was calculated to be 8557, 4884 and 2665 people per year respectively. As a result, by introducing this biosite and explaining its biological, natural and ecological values, can become one of the important nature tourism destinations.
